The concept of "Restricted Roles" is new to Organization Modeling in R2020x (for Baseline deployments) on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This has been introduced to accommodate a common use case for many of our customers: for a given project, suppliers must only have access to their respective data, while OEM teams must have access to everything in the project (a given Collaborative Space).

If enabled in the platform settings, Administrators will have the ability to assign a role as "restricted" (or not) for each of the Baseline roles (Reader, Contributor, Author, etc.).  

For example, in the use case pictured below: User Julian MALO is a member of the vendor organization AVR-Wheels and is added to the collaborative space and assigned with the Extended Author role. Julian MALO gets access to read data shared by other vendors in the collaborative space. In such a case, in order to keep the data privacy of the other organizations, the restricted roles are introduced.

Now consider: User Julian MALO is a member of vendor organization AVR-Wheels, and he is added to the collaborative space and assigned with the Author (restricted) role. Julian MALO now only gets read/write access to content owned by his organization, and only in the Collaborative Space he was assigned to.
