ENOVIA Issue Management enables the submission of issues detected during engineering or manufacturing processes on physical products.
This is implemented using the “Reported Against” feature of the issue, where you can add the product (reference) where the issue has been detected. In many cases, the issue should be precisely submitted on only a single occurrence (instance) of the product.
Here is an example:
The crawlers_V1 is a product that contains another sub-product (Product45769) that has 4 instances:
Assuming there is an issue on the instance I_Product45769.11, how can we describe that with ENOVIA Issue Management?
There is no available way today to add an instance in the “Reported Against” of the issue because the “Reported Against” object always points to the ‘Reference’ of the object and not to its instance.
As a work around, we can use the balloon-positioning concept of the “Issue 3D Review” app to position the issue on the specific instance:
To summarize:
- Use the “Issue Management “ or the “Issue 3D Review” app to create an issue and add the parent product of the reference which contains the instance that has the issue, as “Reported Against”
- Use the “Issue 3D Review” to position the balloon on the relevant instance of that reference
Note, that you need to repeat the same process in case you want to create another issue on another instance of the same reference.
The following video illustrates how this use case can be achieved (the video was created in ENOVIA R2020x FD01 release)
