A route is a set of tasks that users complete to accomplish a business activity.
In ENOVIA, we used routes to automate business processes for the purpose of review and approvals or comments. Route templates are also available to capture existing business processes and make it repeatable.
Users can create, update and delete routes and route templates within the ‘Route Management’ widget.
Routes can contain content that helps the route members complete their assigned tasks.
To add content to route, you drag the content either from the search results or from any other application and drop it into the route ‘Content’ tab or directly on the route itself.
If the purpose of the route is to approve its content, you can choose to promote automatically the content upon completion of the route, by setting the ‘Route Completion Action’ to ‘Promote Connected Object’ in the ‘New Route’ dialog.
In R2022x FD01, the relation between the content and the route is available in ‘Relations’ widget including the route tasks. This enhancement improves the document approval process, impact assessment and audit trail.
