A user is now able to Reactivate an Item from the Obsolete State to the Released State!

In accordance with regulatory mandates, execute this action under the authority of a Change Action. A user can add an Obsolete Item to the "Proposed Changes" of a Change Action, and define the intended Activity to be "Change Maturity To Released(Demote)".

This capability is enabled for Physical Products and Manufactured Items.

Note that by default, Objects cannot be demoted from Obsolete to Released.

Your admin user can modify an Object's Policy to allow the demotion from the Obsolete State to the Released state by adding a transition for the targeted Policy. Use the "Collaborative Spaces Configuration Center" widget and select the relevant Policy as part of the "Maturity Graph" section. For Physical Products and Manufactured Items, use the "Engineering Definition (VPLM_SMB_Definition)" Policy.

To enforce Change control for the demotion from Obsolete to Released, add a Control Rule on the transition to "Require Change Action for maturity state changes".
