Introduction
Product References and Instances are widely used by Design Engineers for driving effective product development process. It allows you in fostering adaptability and reusability throughout the product development process.
Raising an Issue on the Specific Product Instance
When an issue is identified with a specific instance of a product, it is essential to consider the implications of fixing that issue at both the reference level and the instance level. If the issue is localized and specific to just one instance, it is appropriate to modify that particular instance directly. Making changes directly to the instance ensures that only that specific instance is modified, leaving other instances and the reference unaffected.
Starting from the R2022x FD03 release, you can raise an issue directly on a specific product instance. You can also capture the instance and its occurrence path in the issue definition. This is available in the Issue 3D Review app where you can select the specific instance, followed by applicable context of the issue.
Note:
- Once the issue definition is completed, the column ‘Occurrence’ displays the full path of the instance to easily navigate to it
- In a 3D view, a pin is added on top of the affected instance to easily identify it.
- When you select the issue from your list of issues, the affected instance is highlighted in the Issue 3D Review app.
