Did you know that in R2021x FD05 you have the ability to passively link or insert project tasks from one or more projects into another project?

This allows you to link other projects into your project without impacting the schedule.

With passive links, you can manually sync the rollup of the tasks into your schedule to show duration on demand. Alternatively, you can decide not to sync the projects so they do not impact the schedule, but you still have visibility. You also can remove the linkage, or convert the passive tasks to active tasks where the rollup will be automatic and based on the dependencies in the system.

Passively linked projects do not show directly in the default task view - there is a new view called Passive Tasks that allows you to view the linked project. This could be useful for linking plans or tasks that may (or may not) impact the project schedule where you can control when to apply them as their impact is realized.
