Many of you may know how the tasks created in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform can be synchronized to show up in user’s Outlook. The benefit of this is that the users can be aware of the work that’s expected of them from platform tasks.
Did you know that the reverse of this is also possible? What I mean is, you can create a new task in Outlook, and save it to the platform. It immediately becomes a 3DEXPERIENCE Task. You can attach reference data to this task and even assign a user in the platform right in Outlook itself.
Once the task is opened in the browser, it can either remain as a stand-alone task, or it can become a WBS task under a project.
This gives a lot of flexibility for managers to create and assign tasks to users directly into the platform.
Note: In order to enable this, users need to have a CSV role and have the code for “collaboration for Microsoft client” installed. Please view the attached video to see this feature in action.
