Introduction
A new Sharing tab is introduced in the Information panel of the Product Explorer, Product Structure Editor, and Bookmark Editor widgets in the R2022x GA release. The user interface is simplified to provide all the required information and actions related to sharing the objects and permissions. This tab provides you with the following capabilities:
- View the name of the users, user groups, or collaborative space the object is shared with
- Modify or remove the existing permissions granted
- Share the object with additional users, user groups, or collaborative space members
The sharing tab allows you to share objects with other users and manage the permissions of already shared objects (view, use or modify). You can select several objects to grant them the same permissions.
When you select a Collaborative Space/Organization while sharing the object:
- The object is shared with the members of the collaborative space.
- If you share with a permission, the resulting permission is also based on member’s responsibility in the selected collaborative space (e.g. If you Share with “Can Edit” permission but the user has “Reader” responsibility, user will only get the read permission).
Depending on the App you are using, the Sharing tab can be accessed from the Properties page or Information panel.

You can view the permissions granted for an object, modify them as required or remove them.
Among the two available views, the “Group view” groups the tiles based on the permissions, and the “List view” shows the flat list of users with whom the object is shared. If the object is shared with multiple users involving multiple types of permissions, you can apply a filter based on “Permission Type”.

Note:
- If an object is shared with someone, its new revision created after sharing is also shared with that user. However, after sharing the object, if you create a new branch or duplicate the object, these newly created objects are not shared with the user.
- You can share objects with the members of the private collaborative spaces only.
- You can share objects with the active users only.
Following are some example of permissions available when you share object with other people. The availability of permission level depends on the object type you select and your own permissions.
