The 2018x FD03 release for the Dassault Systemes cloud supports the ability to set up multiple organizations on the cloud. This is useful as a tenant for defining other companies that you work with and then sharing strategic information with them in a controlled cloud environment.
Using the “Advanced Profile Configuration” command under the Collaboration and Approvals application, an administrator may view the list of companies already defined, and then use the “Create New” command to create the new company.
In developing this capability for the cloud, we worked to update the use of an Organization to the latest industry standards. Some categories related to Company, along with some attributes that have been used in the past have been removed to streamline the user experience and provide a better fit for our cloud customers.
In addition, we will be expanding our support for Organizations in future releases. The current release is limited to the Organization type of Company. Creating Supplier and Customer Organizations is not supported at this time on the cloud.
Finally, with the support for multiple Organizations, we now have the ability to move a Person from one organization to another. Today, a new Person may be created in the host Company only. To fill out the people in the other organizations created in a given tenant, a Person may be moved to another organization. Once moved, you may then add that Person to a given Department in their new Organization.
Support for multiple Organizations on the cloud opens up the ability for companies to collaborate with their suppliers, business partners, and the many other companies they work with on a day-to-day basis. We hope you have an opportunity to explore this new capability and keep us posted on the creative ways you find to use this new feature.
