Manufacturing Equivalent Qualifications are available in the Supplier Item Qualification application provided with the Supplier Item Manager role.
When viewing Qualifications for a Manufacturer Equivalent Item (MEI), you may see four Qualification types:
- General Qualifications
- Engineering Equivalent Qualifications
- Context Qualifications
- Manufacturing Equivalent Qualifications
General Qualification (GQ): are created automatically when the Manufacturer Equivalent Item is created. It qualifies the information based on how the MEI is to be consumed.
Engineering Equivalent Qualification (EQ): qualifies the Manufacturer Equivalent Item based on engineering specifications indicating the MEI is an engineering equivalent of the Engineering Item (EI).
Context Qualification (CQ): restricts the Manufacturer Equivalent Items’ usage to a given context. The contexts available are:
- For Engineering Context, For Project Context, For Plant Context, For Product Context
The newest Qualification type is the Manufacturing Equivalent Qualification.
Manufacturing Equivalent Qualification (MQ): qualifies the Manufacturer Equivalent Item (MEI) with the Manufacturing Item (MI) that is defined in the manufacturing definition. The MI is the context item and the MEI is the qualification target item. Viewing the Relations information on the MQ will display this information.
Viewing the Relations information on the MEI, we can now navigate to see the relationships between the MEI, the MI, and the EI from this Manufacturing Equivalent Qualification (MQ).
