Managing SolidWorks with ENOVIA PLM

I have found there is some confusion regarding how we manage SolidWorks within the ENOVIA PLM system. I would like to take a few minutes here to give you some history and discuss the solution. ENOVIA Collabriative Design for SolidWorks application (SLW) is the connector that links the SolidWorks designer to the ENOVIA PLM system with an immersive integration embedded directly with in the SolidWorks application so that the resulting IP created by the designer can be managed and utilized throughout the Enterprise.

SLW is marketed & managed by the ENOVIA brand within the DS software suite of applications and has been deployed in industry for sometime. It is important to recognize that this product has been redesigned from scratch in the past 2 years so the "old" (up to V6R2010x) and the "new" (V6R2011 and beyond...) have nothing in common beyond the fact that they integrate SolidWorks into ENOVIA. If you have not seen the "New SLW" please take a few moments to review it in the brief video below to discover the capabilities of this 2nd-generation integration for the SolidWorks design environment.
