The 3DEXPERIENCE platform enables you to adopt the lifecycle process of your IP, to certain business rules of your organization.
A typical example for such a rule is when the enterprise wants to limit the release of a physical product when its related specification(s) is (are) not yet “Released”. This will protect the users from releasing products while their specifications are not yet fully approved ( = “Released”)
To achieve that, the administrator needs to define a rule, in the “Engineering Definition” of the section “Maturity Graph” (available in the app “Collaborative Spaces Configuration Center”). The rule should be applied on the relevant transaction of the maturity state, for example: from “In Work” to “Released" or to "Frozen”.
The following values should be selected when defining the rule:
Object Type: Physical product
Rule: Reject if any of the governed children is not on target state
Consider: All Children Types
This example shows a rule on the transaction from "In Work" to "Frozen":
If we try to freeze the root parent in this example, where the Engineering Definition that is partially frozen:
The rule will then be activated and will block this process with the following error message:
The following video illustrates this process.
