Introduction
Many business users waste a significant portion of their working hours on repetitive or redundant tasks. Upon automating these tasks, users will be able to operate effectively and focus on important aspects of their projects.
In the R2023x FD03 release, a new app "Potion Lab” was introduced in the 3DSwymer (IFW-OC) role. This intuitive app, available on cloud, helps all business user save time by automating simple or repetitive routine tasks while working in the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.
This app allows user-specific automation. Meaning, it lets you define the things you want to automate in case specific action is performed in the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. Example: Upon releasing a document, automatically add it to the specific bookmark.
Terminology
This app has the following terminology:
Trigger Ingredient
Trigger Ingredient allows you to set a "When this happens" condition, which is typically an action performed in one of the apps in the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform that triggers the potion (*).
You can follow below steps to define a Trigger Ingredient:
- Select the app. Example: Document Management.
- Select the action (= the trigger). Example: Document Maturity Changed to Released.
Action Ingredient
Allows you to define the actions that you would like to automate when the Trigger Ingredient's conditions are met. Example: Publish a 3DSwym post with a specific title and link to a document when its maturity state is changed to “Released”.
(*) Potion
A potion contains one Trigger Ingredient (“When This Happens”) & one or more Action Ingredients (“Then Do That”). When the Trigger Ingredient’s conditions are met, the app executes the Action Ingredients automatically, thereby saving time.
A potion can have one Trigger Ingredient and up to five Action Ingredients.
Potion Pack
Each user with the 3DSwymer (IFW-OC) role can create three active potions to automate routine tasks. For more potions, you will need an extra role Potion Pack (POK-OC) which enables five extra potions for use.
