Business Challenges
Most companies often struggle with digital discontinuity due to separate systems for product development and sales processes such as demonstrations & quotations. Such siloed operations, especially with the complex product offering, result in overall inefficiencies and delays in generating accurate quotes for customers.
ENOVIA Solutions
With the ENOVIAs Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) solutions, you can leverage unified product definition to create quotations based on the specific product configurations tailored to suit customer choices. You can accelerate the sales process and improve the customer experience thanks to its real-time 3D & pricing updates on-the-fly.
To achieve this, ENOVIA introduced two new roles Sales Experience Designer (XPD-OC) and Sales Specialist (XPQ-OC), starting from the R2025x FD03 release.
Co-Requisites
The following two co-requisites must be completed in order to initiate the design of the CPQ Experience:
- Complete portfolio definition that includes Product Category, Model, Sellable Item (connected with Base Configuration), Core Price, Base Price, and Variability pricing information.
- The engineering structure must be fully configured with the model definition to showcase real-time 3D updates during the quotation process.
Note: Co-requisites in this context mean that the user designing the sales experience does not need the roles required to create the above content, as long as other users with the necessary roles have created it already.
Overview of the 'Sales Experience Designer (XPD-OC)' Role
The Sales Experience Designer (XPD-OC) role allows you to utilize real-time engineering, variability, and pricing data within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, to create CPQ Experience for your sales team.
In simple terms, the CPQ Experience stitches the engineering, variability, and pricing data, which allows real-time product configuration with 3D & price updates for making informed decisions during the quotation process.
This role is relevant for the Product Managers, Sales Configurator Specialist, Product Configurator Developer in your team.
The following image explains the simplified process involved in designing the CPQ Experience.
Key Element Definition
CPQ Experience (Sales Experience) is a container that has the following key elements required to define & compile the experience:
- Configuration Form:
The Configuration Form allows you to design a precise layout of your CPQ Experience. Different sections can be created to group similar variability. Also, you can configure variability properties such as Representation (Thumbnail Images, Radio List, Button), Positioning, Size.
- Commercial Twin:
You can create a Commercial Twin by selecting an existing configured structure. Based on the Model Version attached to the configured product, all the Variability including Variants, Option Groups, Numerical Parameters are automatically retrieved.
- Variability Selection:
Using the Variant Editor, you can choose specific variability you’d like to include in the experience.
- Define Actors:
2D: This section allows you to insert the form viewer which represents the 2D layout of your CPQ Experience.
3D: This section allows you to insert Camera objects which represent various distinct 3D viewpoints. For example, you can place the camera closer to the Arm while selecting the Bucket Type & Size. This allows you easily visualize changes while configuring products during the quotation process.
Logic: This field allows you to map the specific Model Version, Base Configuration, Product Configuration (Connected with Quote) with the CPQ Experience by specifying their IDs.
Preview Experience
You can click on the Play button on the Compass to initiate the CPQ Experience preview. This lets you validate the form layout and real-time 3D & pricing changes based on the variability selection before publishing it for a downstream usage.
Publish and Attach
Upon validation, you can select the Play Optimization to generate a new Published Media Experience file. This file contains the CPQ Experience which you can attach to the required Sellable Item. After this, your sales team can leverage this experience for the sales demos & quote generation.
Note: Sellable Item represents a sellable product within your portfolio. Each sellable item can have a price, an associated currency, an identification number, and multiple revisions.

Overview of the 'Sales Specialist (XPQ-OC)' role
The Sales Specialist (XPQ-OC) role allows you to use the intuitive and interactive CPQ Experience designed by your Sales Experience Designer, as described earlier, to create tailored product configurations & generate its quote.
It offers visual thumbnails alongside real-time 3D & price previews, enabling your sales team to deliver accurate quotes based on customer choices and reduce the overall sales cycle time.
This role is relevant for the Sales Representative, Sales Manager, Sales Experts in your team for live demos and for generating accurate quotes on-the-fly based on customer’s choices.
Process:
Initiate New Quote Creation:
Sales representative can initiate the quote creation by specifying quote title, location, currency, and description.
You can then select a specific sellable item from the company’s commercial portfolio offering, and add it in the quote. It automatically retrieves the connected variability along with its pricing to initiate the configuration.
Configure & Quote:
The Configure command in the quote allows you to launch the CPQ Experience. The configuration form is displayed which allows you to select specific variability based on the customer choice. With its intuitive user interface, clear thumbnail images, and real-time 3D & price preview enables a seamless visual experience for the customers.
Upon completion of the configuration, you can save the form & enter the quantity to finalize the quotation.
Note: Quote publication for downstream usage is part of the roadmap.
