Want to quickly show the Project Planner application without taking the time to build out the Project Plan?
Importing a pre-formatted CSV file into Project Planner provides a great demo solution to model an in-progress Project Plan. You can not only showcase the Project Planner application, but the associated capabilities of invisible governance, CAD management and more.
This imported project plan will become a live project, allowing for dashboard reviews, schedule modifications and live task assignments. Tasks and milestones can be represented in a range from 0-100% complete, in combination with the State definition, allowing for quick visibility of completed items, those in work and those yet to be done.
Dependencies - those items which are either driven by previous, or drive subsequent steps in the project plan - can also be modeled and imported. These constraints can ONLY be set between Tasks and/or Milestones, not across Projects. The most common dependency type (there are 4 options) is the FS (Finish-to-Start) option - meaning Task #2 will not start until Task #1 is completed. Serial and/or parallel tasks can be easily represented in this manner.
Enjoy the video below as an example of how the import process can work in quickly establishing a working project for your demonstration needs. If you have any questions, or want a sample of the CSV format, feel free to reach out!
