IAEG Conference Fall 2022 | ESG within the Aerospace Industry

Working Group 11 (WG11) within the International Aerospace Environmental Group ® (IAEG) is the newest group created within the 10+-year-old IAEG organization that seeks to find common ground and harmonization within the Aerospace & Defense industry for various environmental topics.

The creation of WG11 somewhat broke the mold for IAEG which was founded around a central topic of “Environmental” issues. The creation of WG11 expanded IAEG’s mission because WG11 is focused on the broader topics of "Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG)" across the A&D industry.

The key focus of WG11 meetings that took place this week in Toulouse, France, has been the creation, development, and rollout of a new industry-wide survey on the ESG performance of companies across the wide, diverse and deep A&D Industry supply chain.

It is the hope of all IAEG members that the new ESG survey for the industry will be received by suppliers at all levels of the supply chain as a valuable tool that will help this industry to move forward in becoming a world leader in their efforts to be significantly more sustainable.

Another component of the meetings at the IAEG conference in Toulouse was the topic of materials compliance data exchange throughout the supply chain which is managed within Working Group 1 (WG1) which is one of the key topics that drove the initial creation of IAEG back in 2011. It was the perfect match of WG1 business objectives to the ENOVIA Materials Compliance Management Role and Application Suite the drew Dassault Systèmes to become the very first Liaison Member of IAEG in 2012.
