A new feature included in R2021x FD04 allows us to ensure that enterprise item numbers that are added to engineering items are unique to the system. This enhancement must be turned on and enabled through an administrator. This setting can be found under Engineering Definition in the platform management 3DDashboard.
Once this setting is enabled, the error message below is displayed when a duplicate enterprise item number is provided.
Enterprise Item Numbers are an important way to identify the uniqueness of parts. When searching for items in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, it is helpful to have the enterprise item number displayed in the search results to ensure the correct item is retrieved.
