When working on Projects with hundreds of Tasks within them, there has been a need felt to visually distinguish tasks from one another. This is now possible with color coding. For example, Tasks that have identical work involved can be color coded with blue color, while other identical tasks can be coded with green color.
This long awaited functionality is now available in 2020x FD02. This function will help the project manager to quickly browse through a large list of Project Objects such as Tasks, Phases or Milestones, and quickly identify the ones he’s looking for.
In addition to color coding, it is also possible to have separate Patterns for further distinguishing Tasks, Phases or Milestones. This becomes handy when a user who has been assigned tasks for different Phases of a Project, can put apply a specific color code to all of his tasks, and further give different Patterns for tasks that appear in different Phases.
In case of Project Hierarchy (Project under another Project), the color coding becomes all the more useful as it gives a visual cue to identify tasks from a hierarchical tree.
Watch the view the video below to see a demonstration of this useful enhancement.
Note: this feature is available only in the Gantt Chart view of Projects.
