For a long time, there was no OOTB Dassault Systèmes solution for SmarTeam or ePDM migrations. Although many partners have developed their own migration solutions based on MQL and ADK, there are some difficulties:

- The solutions are not robust (developed with limited knowledge of Dassault Systèmes' internal data models.

- They often generate post migration issues, driving up project delays & Dassault Systèmes support costs.

 For these reasons, ENOVIA has developed reliable Dassault Systèmes “certified” migration tools - EDAT : ENOVIA Deployment Acceleration Toolkit.

This toolkit supports SmarTeam and ePDM as legacy systems. It migrates CAD data and non-CAD documents as well as folders in 3DEXPERIENCE, targeting PPKX.

In R2017x, it will create CAD data in Designer Central, and in R2018x it is planned to support the Power’ By data model. So EDAT, will be the right migration path for xCAD data from SmarTeam to Power’By in the future.
