Charles Marsh and Jeff Cloud recently sat down with COE to discuss the exciting advancements at Bell Helicopter driven by a move to integrate the company’s business systems to ENOVIA nearly a decade ago - and to give us a sneak peak into the future.

Beyond streamlining, ENOVIA has helped teams do more with less. Jeff recalled a time when he was Chief Engineer at Bell Helicopter leading a small team of five and using ENOVIA to run daily activities. “We could make engineering changes, perform investigations on configuration history and send information to vendors and customers. Having all that information at our fingertips was very powerful and enabled us to do a lot of things that, previously, we wouldn’t have been able to do as quickly or with as small of a team.” 

As with any new business process, the transition had its challenges – optimizing processes and keeping information in a universal location. Regardless, Jeff saw that the long-term benefits would outweigh short-term issues. “I would tell my colleagues, yes, it may take more time now, but it will save 10 times as many people that time in the future. Time spent now is used efficiently by others later – or even later that day.”
