The 3D Annotation Insight app is available with the 3D Product Architect (PAU) role and provides users the ability to easily access tolerances and annotations generated in the 3D Tolerancing & Annotation native app.
3D Annotation Insight is part of a “family of apps” dealing with Functional Tolerance and Annotation (FT&A) that includes:

3D Tolerancing & Annotation (in native client):The 3D Tolerancing & Annotation enables you to specify 3D tolerance specifications and annotations products managed on the platform. The app can be used with any existing CAD connector on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform that supports the creation of “exact geometry.”
The 3D Tolerancing & Annotation app can be deployed against any CAD data if the CAD data is associated with an exact geometry representation.
There are currently 5 apps that work with published FT&A data and they are devided into 2 groups. Each with of these apps offer unique capabilities that can be used when working with FT&A data on the platform.
Apps for Browsing FT&A data:
3D Play (Available in the Collaborative Industry Innovator role). This application offers visualization of multiple types of media , including FT&A data, across multiple platforms.
3D Annotation Insight (Available in the Digital Mockup Review Manager, Digital Mockup Validation Manager and 3D Product Architect roles). In addition to the viewing capabilities of 3D Play it offers;
Cross-highlighting
Semantic filtering - You can graphically distinguish non-semantic annotations (datum, datum targets, geometric tolerances, dimensions) from semantic ones.
All technical attributes – Exposure and highlighting of specific FT&A entries in the overall data.
Apps offering additional capabilities such as Slide creation, Markup, and Annotation of FT&A data:
3D Markup (Available in the Collaborative Industry Innovator role)
Multiple markups – The ability to add an overlay of annotation to identify issues with the document.
Design Review (Available in the Digital Mockup Review Manager role)
Multiple markups - The ability to add an overlay of annotation to identify issues with the document.
Replies – Responses to markup slides.
Design Validation (Available in the Digital Mockup Validation Manager role)
Multiple markups - The ability to add an overlay of annotation to identify issues with the document.
Replies – Responses to markup slides.
Validated objects – Objects in a review that have been validated via a tag by a specific reviewer.
Checks – Marker indicating a review against a requirement is needed.
Highlights – Note the priority of review of an existing highlight.
The functional level of FT&A browsing available in these 3 apps depends on the browsing app you have access to, but 3D Annotation Insight is also included in Design Review (RED) and Design Validation (YED).
