3DDashboard app in the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform allows you to create dashboards to organize apps and work effectively. You can also share dashboards with your team to collaborate seamlessly and ensure everyone stays aligned.
Most often, when a team lead shares a dashboard, team members duplicate it & personalize it for their own needs. However, when the team lead makes updates to the source dashboard, such as adding important new apps, these changes do not automatically reflect in the duplicated dashboard.
This leads to inconsistencies and outdated information, forcing team members to manually track updates or risk missing critical data, which hampers productivity and alignment.
Starting from the R2024x FD04 release, the members added as the “Contributor” or “Reader” of the dashboard can now synchronize the duplicated dashboard with the source dashboard. To enable this, the "Owner" of the source dashboard must select following two checkboxes in the “Manage Dashboard & Cockpits” dialog box:
- Enable Duplication for All Members
- Enable Duplicated Dashboards to Be Resynchronized On-Demand
When these options are selected, members who have duplicated the dashboard will get access to a new tab "Synchronization". This tab displays the last synchronization status and allows you to perform synchronization on demand through the following two options:
- Synchronize with Source: You can refer to the comparison view and synch specific tab or widget from the source dashboard.
- Reset to Source: Remove all the changes and reverts duplicated dashboard to the initial Dashboard state.
