Why is my mouse cursor slow in 2019?

Unfortunately we have several issues reported for DraftSight 2019SP3. If you experience a slow/ freezing mouse/ cursor please read this carefully and follow the steps below. Thanks!

Please check if you had a 3DCONNEXION Mouse installed before. We have seen several reports where if a 3D Mouse has previously been installed and the software "3D Connexion Home" could still be found under programs. Go to remove Programs and remove all software related to 3DCONNEXION. Retest the issue. This might be one solution for several cursor issues we experience with 2019SP3 at the moment.

Additionally if this is not the solution for you please check the following:

1. Another workaround is to open DraftSight, go to Tools-Options- System Options – Display – Element Colors and enable ‘Use dashed entity selection highlighting’. These options are not computer options but options in DraftSight.

2. Also the problem can be caused by the graphics card driver, please try disable and re-enable the video card, please follow the steps below:

-Open the Device Manager (you can find it by going to the Start menu and typing "Device Manager" into the Search programs and files box.

- Expand the Display adapters node

- Right-click on the adapter (e.g. Intel or HP)

- Click on Disable

- Try to reproduce the problem.

TIP: Don’t forget to go back and re-enable your display adapter.

If disabling particular graphics adapter helps to resolve the issue then it is most likely due to graphics card hence you need to update that graphics card driver or keep it disabled.

DraftSight is especially sensitive to the video card driver updates, we recommend to download the newest video drivers from the video card manufacturer’s web site.

3. Please also check the display settings. Display settings scaled up to e.g. 150%, to make it easier to see cause problems at the moment. As soon as its scaled it back down to 100%, DraftSight starts working again.

4.  Enable 'Run this program in compatibility mode for Win7' from DraftSight properties>compatibility.
