The DraftSight License-Administrator can be found on the client machine and contains of two tabs, to manage your server and licenses. To access the License-Administrator, go to: Start/ All Programs/ Dassault Systemes/ DraftSight License-Administrator.
1. Server List
On this tab you find a list of servers that can be accessed from your machine. Also you can add new servers and remove existing servers that might not be of use anymore.
- Add a new Server ‘Add...’
Note: You can select between Single Server and Failover Cluster. This needs to be specified when you place the order with your local VAR or Sales Rep. It is not possible to switch between Single Server and Failover Cluster without ordering a new license file. For a detailed setup description; have a look at the DSLS.pdf document that you will find in your DSLS installation zip folder.
- To remove a server, click ‘Remove’
Select the Server you want to remove and click ‘Remove’. The Server will be removed immediately.
2. Offline Licenses
With DraftSight Premium, you can ‘borrow’ a Premium license for 30 days. License borrowing or offline licensing allows users to extract a concurrent license from a license server for a certain number of days and to use it on a laptop disconnected (or not) from the network. This is especially useful for people travelling and not always being able to login to the network.
a. Click on ‘DraftSight Enterprise’ then chose a date from the calendar to take a DraftSight license offline. Now do the same with 'DraftSight Enterprise API' to take also an API license offline. Note: a maximum period of 30 days is allowed. Afterwards select ‘Take Offline’ and the license will be displayed under ‘Offline Licenses’ as shown below. You can now use DraftSight Premium up to 30 days without being connected to the network.
b. To return the license, simply select the license and click ‘Return Online’.
Troubleshooting:
- You have most likely picked a date outside the 30 day range. Please reselect a date in a 30 days’ time period.
- Check the expiring date of your license. The license might expire soon.
- Check the date on your server and on the client machine. Both machines need to be synchronised in time and date. Please note that a maximum time difference of up to 2h is possible.
