Where for the logistics domain the IPE initiative has been all about the Last Mile Optimization IPE (link) in 2021, the coming year we will be working on an IPE for Home Delivery Optimization.

So what will this new IPE bring?

The Home Delivery Optimization focuses on the delivery and pickup of groceries where goods are transported from stores, warehouses or other decentralized locations, to their final delivery location at the consumer. Although the focus of the solution is on operational planning and optimization which entails the creation of efficient routes with a focus on reducing costs, customer service is an important aspect where allowing the consumer to decide when groceries should be delivered to them is vital when working with fresh goods. As a first step to understanding what the IPE should focus on, we will work on understanding the business processes behind this puzzle.

To this end, we are looking for knowledgeable people within our network with experience in this business willing to share their knowledge. This will allow us to increase and broaden our knowledge of this puzzle. In case you would like to contribute, please respond to this post.
