Introducing DELMIA Quintiq Mobile Client (DQMC)🚀

 MobileClient

✨ What’s New?

  • DELMIA Quintiq Mobile Client (DQMC or QMC2) is the next evolution of the Quintiq Mobile Client (QMC), bringing you improved features and a smoother experience.
  • Key improvements include:
    • Brand New Native Experience - meticulously crafted to deliver an intuitive mobile experience, leveraging OS-specific features to enhance performance and accessibility. Every component has been thoughtfully reimagined to boost usability, responsiveness, and visual appeal, providing a more engaging, intuitive, and accessible user experience.
    • Increased configurability - more layouts, colors, text stylings, and modern visual components are available
    • New components - more components are available such as the Avatar, Chip, Badges, File Uploader and File Viewer
    • Accelerated configuration – New fully-featured visual designer allows you to easily configure your application similar to the designer for the thin client and web client designers.
    • Improved offline capabilities– covers more offline scenarios, caching data locally and queuing up requests when a connection is not available
    • Modern login experience - use device features like FaceID and TouchID to login and stay connected.
  • While the current QMC has served us well, this upgrade ensures we stay ahead with the best tools for our needs.

📅 Timeline & Transition Plan

  • 2025 Q3 – DELMIA Quintiq Mobile Client will be available with the 2025 R2 release of Workforce Planner (WP) and Fleet & Crew Planner (F&CP). These will have the same page structure and layout as the current apps and should be familiar to current users.
  • 2026+ - Workforce Planner plans to start working on a redesigned version of the app to fully utilize the increased configurability of the new framework. These will simplify and enhance the user experience to be in line with modern mobile UX designs.
  • 2027+ - The current QMC will continue to be supported with security and critical bug updates for at least a few years before it is sunset
  • How to learn more– In the coming months, more documentation and training materials will be made available on the 3DSwym communities, Quintiq support center, and Quintiq Academy. Look for posts on the DELMIA community to keep up to date!

👥Existing customers

  •  The new app can use the existing HTTP Handlers to retrieve data, but the UI definition is in an updated format. In order to use the new app, the UI definition needs to be migrated to this new format.
  • Migration tools have been developed which automate up to 85% of the work
  • A short migration project (similar to a software upgrade project) is required to update the model to support the new app

🆕New customers

  • New customers and customer prospects for Workforce Planner or Fleet & Crew Planner can start with the 2025 R2 Release of the new app, and add any additional configurations on top of this in the project layer
  • You can also build a new app from scratch in very little time

🌍New opportunities!

  • With the accelerated configuration capabilities, it's easier than ever to create new apps to work with a Quintiq model!
  • This enables you to quickly throw an app POC together to demonstrate internally or to a customer how Quintiq can support and exceed their requirements.

❓ FAQ

Q: Does the new app support all the features of the old app?

A: The vast majority of features are supported. One feature that is not supported is the messaging features. If there are any concerns about any specific features, please reach out.

Q: Does the new app support deploying and configuring the app via Mobile Device Management (MDM)?

A: Yes, the new app supports the same deployment options as the current app.

Q: Does the new app require any changes to the technical architecture of the backend?

A: No. The overall architecture is the same, so no new software / components need to be installed in the backend.

Q: Will the current QMC app continue to receive updates?

A: Only required security updates and critical bug fixes will be addressed in the current app. Moving forward, all new features / feature development will be in the new app.

Q: Do customers have to switch right away?

A: No. The current QMC app will still be available in the public store while migrations are started.  The DELMIA Brand team and R&D will be reaching out to the customer project teams to coordinate a short migration project (similar to a software upgrade project). It's expected to take a few years to transition all current customers over to the new app, and then the current QMC app will be removed.

Q: Will the customer's users know how to use the app without training?

A: Yes! The migration keeps all of the existing pages and workflows of their current app intact - so it should look and feel like their current app, just with a fresh coat of paint.

Q: Where can I get help or training?

A: We will be update the Beta testing community wiki with additional documentation and materials. We recommend subscribing to this community to ensure you have the latest updates available.
