In DELMIA Quintiq version 5.2, the Quintiq Gateway component was introduced to balance the load from thin- and mobile clients to client engines such as Thin client and mobile engine. With the support for websockets in Quintiq 6.2, the Quintiq gateway server is marked as deprecated as there are third party loadbalancers such as Fortiweb and Elastic that can be used instead.

Though the configuration of loadbalancers or reverse proxy servers is usually pretty straightforward, there are some important requirements and best practices that must be taken into account.
