When creating an employee roster for the next month a lot can happen that impacts the plan based on the roster lines from the cyclic roster that were assigned to the employees. Employees take days off, they have preferences to work at other times than scheduled, or they may need to perform other duties such as following a training. As a planner you can try to find a solution for this yourself but in DELMIA Quintiq Fleet & Crew Planner (and of course in DQ Workforce Planner as well) you can also ask the shift assignment optimizer to assist you in assigning the unassigned shifts and possibly reassigning shifts in order to maximize KPI values.
