Often, multiple users will want to do an optimizer run for their puzzle at the same time, but system resources are scarce, and having many optimizer runs at the same time can put a big load on them. Also, sometimes those system resources are needed for other actions, such as a nightly data synchronization with external systems, and it's not ideal if then an optimizer run is using those same resources, slowing down the integration with external systems, which possibly delays other activities depending on that as well.

In DELMIA Quintiq Fleet & Crew Planner release 2023 Refresh4 optimizer runs for creating a crew plan, such as the crew duty generation optimizer and crew activity assignment optimizer, can now be managed by the optimizer run manager. It allows multiple optimizer runs at the same time if needed, it allows pausing and scheduling of optimizer runs, and reprioritizing optimizer runs in the queue. With this, all planners can easily benefit from the value the optimizers can bring to their crew plans, while at the same time system administrators can stay in control of the system resources used to support these optimizer runs.
