DELMIA Ortems: Reload Work Order (WO), Planning application feature

Ortems

How to Reload a Work Order

Example to illustrate this feature: How to add a Machine into the usable machines without exiting the planning?

Add machine on Installed machine base

Open your data module, then navigate on Installed machine base. You’ll need to add a new machine on the machines list by using the insert button.

After filling the fields, you’ll see your new machine on the Machines list

Reload Work Order

In order to have the most up-to-date information available without unlaunching and relaunching those WOs:

On a Gantt chart, you need to choose RELOAD WO from the right-click menu, and then click the on the WO you want to reload (you can also use the multiple selection feature, but you cannot select a WO from a campaign series).

A message reminds you that all the changes that were made to operations of the selected WO(s) in WIP will be lost, and asks you to confirm that you want to proceed.

When you do, the software checks whether it can actually reload the necessary data, and warns you if it can't - Note that you can also use the RELOAD WO command in collaborative mode.

Usable machines

On a Gantt chart, you need to choose Display from the right-click menu, and then click the WO and navigate to Usable machines.

Prerequisites

Minimum version: DELMIA Ortems 8.1 (fix 1625) and above

Option to activate (if not activated, you’ll need to quit and launch Planning module before reloading WIP): FORCE_RELOADING_STATIC_DATA_FOR_INTERACTIVE_ACTIONS in table BUSINESS_CONFIG => SQL command to run from Vic IBU module, Update SQL tab:

update BUSINESS_CONFIG set PARAM_VALUE='1' where PARAM_ID='FORCE_RELOADING_STATIC_DATA_FOR_INTERACTIVE_ACTIONS’;

Limitations: they are the same as the change of item version. It is not possible to reload a WO if:

  • one of the operations in the WO is in progress or advanced
  • the WO is in progress or completed
  • it belongs to a campaign series
  • its supply is fixed
  • it is not associated with an item.
  • its routing is unknown or invalid

Note: If the WO has fixed or synchronization links with other WOs, or supply links, the software automatically removes these links so it can reload the static data. You must then recreate the necessary links (or check that the supply links are reapplied correctly). Other types of links are left unchanged, provided they do not cause circuits in the graph further to the reloading process.

Warning - Limit

The unlaunch process applies to all the launched and planned WOs in the list.

Note that WOs that have been subject to at least one follow-up event also appear on this list, but you cannot unlaunch them, because their production has started.

Keep in mind that :

  • If the WOs to unlaunch have links with other launched or planned WOs, these are unlaunched as well, even if they are not listed in the tab.
  • For WOs created in the Planning application, unlaunching them means deleting them. They no longer appear in the WIP Control application and Planning application. As a matter of fact, these WOs only exist in the WIP where they were created, and are saved in the E_OF table, not the B_OF table.
