What’s new ?
From DELMIA Ortems 2026 Refresh 3 (Fix 2610), a new 'Classification' field has been introduced to enhance the items management.
This item classification is a text-based field with a maximum character limit of 100, corresponding to the ART_CLASSIFICATION column in the B_ART table. This field can be populated for all item types via the Data Module application, through the 'Details' tab within the 'Items' menu.

How will this help you?
This new feature offers increased flexibility and personalization in item categorization that was previously impossible with standard categorization fields such as Material types or item families.

How does it work in practice?
From the Planning application, this feature allows for more efficient item filtering and the viewing of classifications in a read-only format through the use of filters, ScreenTips, description windows, and through the Material chart.
