From the Ortems R2024 Refresh6, it is now possible to update several databases at once. No more need to use a command file (.CMD or .BAT) including one Upddb.exe command line per environment to update.
This option is available in the new “Multiple selection” tab, from the “Configuration” parent tab.
The displayed list corresponds to the Planning environments allowed for the logged-in user.
The database type and source version are precised on each end of line. Hence you can select the environments to update according to their database version. The selected databases types can be mixed (Firebird, ORACLE and MSSQL).
Note: before displaying them, each of these environments is tested to prevent error during the update (that would stop the update). Only valid environments are displayed. In case of many environments, a short latency may be observed before displaying the environments.
At present it is not possible to run this multiple update from the upddb.exe command line.
Prior to clicking on “Launch the update” icon, be sure to have a backup of each environment you want to update. This recommendation is explained in our Best Practice documentation that can be found here.
After selecting the environment (one after one, or all according to the need), click on “Launch the update” icon on the right part of the screen.
