With the release of DELMIA Ortems 2022 Refresh2, Planning application offers to open several charts in separate windows. If you want to view all the windows at once, you can now choose to tile them vertically. This feature complements the existing options to tile the windows horizontally or to cascade them, and improves on those as it often offers better readability.
Also, you can choose to synchronize the views in the windows.
Introduction
The ‘Window’ tab lets you open news windows, reorganize the open windows, and switch window.
For example, you can display a Machine Gantt chart, a WO Gantt chart and a Capacity Requirements Planning chart side by side in the application.
Description
- New window: opens a new window displaying, by default, a Machine Gantt chart (from the menu bar or from the icon bar, you can select another chart).
- Cascade: stacks the open windows to make them all visible and accessible in the application main window
- Tile horizontally: displays all the open windows one below the other in the application window
- Tile vertically: display all the open windows side by side in the application main window
- Synchronize windows: when this option is active (default value), the application synchronizes the display of the open windows :
- whenever you scroll horizontally in one of them
- whenever you use a zooming feature in one of them
- whenever you change the time scale in one of them
As a rule, all the options in the ‘Display' tab of the control ribbon synchronize the open windows.
For the views that do not use a time scale, such as the performance chart and the advance / delay chart, the application synchronizes their content only when they display the same kind of values: for example percentage or duration.
Similarly, the highlighting features and the filters you use in one of the open windows apply to the others as well, provided their contents are compatible.
For example: Highlighting the static links in a ‘Machine Gantt’ chart has no impact on a ‘Capacity Requirements Planning’ chart.
The status of this synchronization option (active or not) can be saved in the desktops.
