V6R2012x _ new data model under PPRContext _ how create Manufacturing Setup ? and impact on previous methodologies

In 2012x, the structure under the PPR has been changed.

Instead to have directly (and at the same level) under the PPR : a Machining Cell and the product (part and rough) , you have ONLY the Machining Cell and the “product” in now under the Machining Cell.

The product (part+ rough) has been also changed instead to be a ‘generic’ product, it is now a resource, type:  ‘Manufacturing Setup’.

 Impact on methodology (general):

If the part and rough are under a ‘product’, a ‘Manufacturing Setup’ is automatically created under the Machining Cell in the machining workbench.

To avoid this automatic creation, you can created directly a ‘Manufacturing Setup’ to position the part and rough (see pdf)

note: existing product can be changed in manufacturign setup in device building workbench via 'generate ressource' icons

Impact on methodology (multi setup, like millturn)

The V5 and previous V6 version methodology is not yet possible (One product  with several sub-product for each setup)

If you want to define a PO with multi setup (example: mill turn with SETUP1 on spindle and SETUP2 on counterspindle), you have to load one by one the manufacturing setup via contextual menu to have the manufacturing setup under the machining cell node.

I have created a video to illustrate the methodo (base on V6R2012x PLM express)

These changes have been made to have a better cycle life management and also a better integration between alls  the DELMIA products (Robotic …).

Data coming from previous V6 or V5 versions are automatically updated.
