Sustainable products earn higher prices and more loyal customers. Not surprisingly then, more than half of corporate executives responding to a recent Harris Poll admit to “greenwashing” – falsifying or exaggerating their products’ sustainability claims. As consumers wise up to the trend and regulators begin to crack down on it, the reputational risks of greenwashing are rising. But the Harris Poll found that 65% of executives want to take action; they just don’t know how.
