Webinars Electrical Engineering 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA
With an increasing number of electric devices in industrial products, Electrical engineers and architects may face difficult challenges. How to manage the complexity of the Electrical development process while improving quality and reducing costs?
Watch the 14th webinar of our CATIA TV program: Webinar "Optimize your wire harness electrical engineering” and listen to @DS and @MH. Together they present how the wire harness development can rely on an Integrated Electrical Design Process. This allows Electrical engineers to handle a large amount of data. And this allows other stakeholders such as Systems architects to collaborate to create reliable electrical systems.

To answer questions raised before or during the webinar:
Question 1: I would like to see the logical to physical synchronization in action. I would also like to see wire lengths synched back from physical to logical to set the Routed Length parameter in logical wires.
Answer 1: In the video we showed the first level of synchronization, importing the wire content. We are working on a new demonstration showing extensively the capabilities of the logical/physical synchronization. Timeframe most likely end of Q4 2019
Q2: Is this module included with CATIA? Module pricing? Connector catalog included? Motorsports connector catalog included? Are their any major suppliers/partners connected with wireharness production? Does this package include a PCB library?
A2: The electrical part (starting with the diagrams) of the demonstration used the following CATIA roles: Systems Schematic Designer (SEF) | Electrical 3D Systems Designer (ELG) and Electrical Harness Manufacturing Engineer (EMP). For pricing please contact your local sales representative (or through 3DS.com). Catalogs of parts are not included in the CATIA roles. PCB was not part of this webinar, 3DS has specific offerings for this.
Q3: Which license supports KBL export from CATIA?
A3: This is available in the Electrical Harness Manufacturing Engineer (EMP)
Q4: WHICH ROLES WILL BE PRESENT ? AND TAGET CUSTOMERS ?
A4: The electrical part (starting with the diagrams) of the demonstration used the following CATIA roles: Systems Schematic Designer (SEF) | Electrical 3D Systems Designer (ELG) and Electrical Harness Manufacturing Engineer (EMP). The demo is automotive related, however our applications for electrical are targeting following industries: Transportation and Mobility, Aerospace and Defense, Marine and Offshore, Energy and Materials, Industrial Equipment, Life Sciences and High Tech.
Q5: ELECTRIC VEHICLE HIGH AND LOW VOLTAGE HARENSS ROUTING AND DESIGN - PREVENT FROM EMI EFFECT
A5: In this demonstration we did not show the EMI/EMC capabilities of SIMULIA with Cablestudio. For this, other material is available.
Q6: Are there any solutions for checking the final assembly of electrical equipment?
A6: We do not have out of the box tools to check in the real world the placement of electrical equipment
Q7: Is it possible to provide splice optimization location?
A7: Automation of splice placement is one of the topics we are currently working on in a global effort to enhance the global process integration
Q8: is it modeled at a feature level?
A8: yes wires are features… for the moment…
Q9: Can we I have a direct contact of who is developing this?
A9: For contacting CATIA people, a first possibility is to use the CATIA User community here. We can also contact you directly if you send an email to CATIA.contact@3ds.com.
Q10: Is this 17X or 19X?
A10: 19x
Q11: I see 3Dexperience same as Catia V5 EHI, is it better?
A11: There have been large improvement compared to V5 electrical. Mainly on conductor routing and harness flattening but also harness installation.
Q12: you use more variants(configurations) on the same drawing? for example 8 and 10 cell battery in the same project, same drawing? thank you a lot, looking forward
A12: There are methods to apply configuration on electrical designs and filter diagrams accordingly. This could be demonstrated in a future webinar.
