Scott Greenwood becomes a CATIA Dymola Champion

Champion Dymola USA CATIA Champion

We have the pleasure to introduce you to our CATIA Dymola Champion, Scott Greenwood (@SG).  Over the past few years, Scott has been very active in the Modelica/Dymola world through the development of his Modelica library, TRANSFORM (https://www.ornl.gov/onramp/transform), for use in modeling advanced energy systems with a focus on nuclear energy. As part of his work, he has attended conferences, submitted bugs or suggestions to the Dymola R&D team, and even hosted a TRANSFORM workshop and Modelica/Dymola training with assistance from representatives from Dassault Systemes. Scott was welcomed to the CATIA Champions Program a few weeks ago after applying online on the CATIA User Community.

Scott first post on the CATIA User Community:

The energy systems of the future are dynamic, complex, and... well... awesome. With a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, dabbling in experimental work, and then wrapping things up with a PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Scott has and is exploring the frontiers of energy. Since 2015, Scott has been creating tools and dynamic system models (i.e., Modelica, Dymola, & TRANSFORM) to explore the operation of advanced nuclear reactors, thermal-hydraulic experimental facilities, and even nuclear thermal propulsion (i.e., space) systems.

Life isn't complete without some variety, so he sprinkles in some 3D visualization and adds a dash of data analysis, among other things, here and there as well. Many fields may yet be explored in his future -- looking at you, robots -- but at the center of it is Scott's belief that the integration of advanced software tools has just begun and the many great tools and advancements made in modeling and simulation will allow us to understand and create an incredible, energized future.
