Many manufacturing processes involve physical behaviors that will influence the resulting part shape, so you do not get the expected result. for examples:
-3D printing thermal distortion or gravity effects
-Plastic injection molding shrinkage and warpage
-Sheet metal Stamping spring back
One method to get the expected part is to integrate counter deformation of the physical behavior in in the part to manufacture. The counter deformation may be computed either from simulation or scanning of a physical prototype part.
CATIA Virtual to Real Shape Morphing application enables to deform globally (and automatically) a geometry from a vector field. This application can be used to compensate the part with vector fields from Simulation results.
It is now possible to easily select a Simulation result from the 3DEXPERIENCE SIMULIA apps to define the deformation vector field.
Here is an example of seamless process in the 3DEXPERIENCE with CATIA Virtual to Real Shape Morphing using SIMULIA Additive Manufaturing Simulation results.
