CATIA Champion Germany
Today we have the great pleasure to introduce you to Predrag Todorovic (@PT) from Berlin, Germany, who has joined the CATIA Champions Program a few weeks ago. From his own words, Predrag has been 'living and breathing CATIA' since 2000 and the release CATIA V5R2. He brings 30,000+ hours of experience working with CATIA, modeling very complex assemblies and mechanisms, and shaping surface models for the aeronautical and automotive industries.
Some Words from Predrag:
"Today I was informed about the honor to join this community as a CATIA Champion. I have earned my university degree in 1999. at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty, University of Belgrade, Serbia, in the Aeronautical Department.
Approx. at the time I started interesting myself for the CAD/CAE software and had opportunity to pick between several options. But the very moment I set my eyes on CATIA V5, I knew that was it! It looked so advanced (thus appropriate for the beginning for the 21st century) and in the same time so intuitive. Was so far ahead of it's peers, and I am speaking here about the Release 2!
Since then the "virus" called V5 never left my body, tending now to mutate to 3Dexperience fever. It never felt like "some software I need to deal with", was always more like the extension of my hands and brains while developing new products.
I have learned the V5 myself passionately, which enabled me to first score work at the V5 representative for the West Balkans countries, later on to score the job @Rolls-Royce Deutschland. Although the latter was predominantly NX CAD environment, my extensive V5 skill-set & experience and the need to CAD-wise communicate with all of our customers gave me the opportunity to work almost on the exclusive basis in CATIA in the company. This gave me good opportunity to act as focal point (kind of Super User) and the advocate for more using CATIA. I worked in CATIA using quite a lot of it's modules, starting from "simpler" solids and complex surface designs in the Aeronautics, complex assemblies and their DMU & kinematics analysis, FEM using Elfini solver and mesher, CFD using preliminary tool FloEFD integrated as 3rd party module in CATIA, mold tooling design, aerospace sheet metal design, renderings, composites and many others.
