We are very pleased to introduce you to our latest CATIA Champion, Jeffrey Roark (@JR ).
Jeffrey is a PLM professional with 30 years of experience using Dassault Systemes software in several domains in multiple industries. During his career, he has experienced greatest satisfaction from enabling team members. Seeing them gain experience, skills and realizing success is rewarding. In addition, he has developed skill sets in the following domains: Product Design, Tooling, Manufacturing, PLM and Knowledge Capture (process automation and templates of design, analysis and manufacturing). He has served as a product designer, CNC programmer and operator, tool designer, CAD support specialist, and an architect of CAD and PLM processes (V4, V5 and 3DExperience, NX and TeamCenter).
Here is the mini bio from Jeffrey:
When the business was short-handed, I have stepped in and helped with design work. My success is possible because of the culmination of my experiences (90% perspiration and 10% inspiration).
Most recently, I collaborated with Hector Camps of PHI Cubed in co-operation with Miami Dade College on a project to demonstration the capability of 3DExperience Platform in architectural design. The object was to develop an automated process utilizing the 3DExpereince and the Platform.
Dassault Systemes, I moved to Perth Australia to join Dassault Systemes. The mission was to exploit 3DExperience Platform in the mining industry. It was a great opportunity to learn a new industry, fulfill a dream to work for Dassault Systemes and experience a new culture. I provided the team with the skills necessary to develop and deploy Know How Apps on the platform. I also participated directly in the development of the solutions.
At Yanfeng/Johnson Controls, I had a 28-year career in the automotive industry. I held several positions over the years: Product Designer, CNC Programmer, Tooling Designer, CAD Support Specialist, ENOVIA VPM architect, and Knowledgeware developer/team leader. The most fulfilling role was that of Knowledgeware team leader. I was responsible for a global development team (India, Slovakia, China, and US). I architecture a methodology that enabled the team to co-develop and deploy solutions on demand to 8 tech campuses.
In Addition to industry experience, I also volunteered with COE.org (10yrs) soliciting presentations as well as providing presentations and training modals at the annual conference. Plus, I was the acting president of WMCAE.org (20yrs). I organized 5 user group meetings per year for area Dassault Systemes and Siemens user community. Looking back, I feel humbled to have had great opportunities and truly fortunate to have developed a network of peers/friends. Thanks to all!
