Tomorrow will be May the 4th, also "known" as the Star Wars day.
That reminds me that a long time ago in a galaxy far far away... no sorry in a previous version of CATIA, I have started to design a Star Wars X-Wing in 3D.
As a Star Wars first trilogy fan, it was for me amazing to use CATIA V5 for fun to create this spaceship in 3D.
That was also a good use case to test Part & Shape Design, Design in Context, Assembly constraints, Relational Design, Assembly Symmetry, etc...
A few time ago, I decided to reuse my V5 design in 3DEXPEXPERIENCE CATIA, and to enhance it of course.
I've then added more details and a R2D2 unit.
I also add some kinematic to be able to switch between all the positions of this spaceship: landed, in atmospheric flight or in space flight (the most known one)
Using 3DEXPERIENCE platform capabilities, I also create another "version" of this spaceship: the Recon-X one, which does not appears in any movie but in some Star Wars comics.
I have also developed an in Space flight animation on my X-Wing.
And sometime, I dream an X-Wing lands on our DS Campus @ Velizy...
