...Ornaments have a long history during the festive season. The tradition of decorating an evergreen tree during winter goes all the way back to 16th-century Germany. Ornaments were first decorated with apples, candles, and pastries in the shapes of angels, flowers, hearts, and stars, later made of glass.
They also appeared long ago in the Dassault Systèmes Universe, albeit disguised as a simple geometric construction of a sphere. Grab your digital tools and get to work on your version of the virtual glass sphere by applying your favorite DSBPR materials on it...
✨🎄 Join our Holiday DSPBR contest! 🎄✨
How to enter?
3DEXCITE has prepared a festive scene with fir branches and some bling for you - your task is to cover an ornament with a beautiful DSPBR material.
There are no limits to your imagination - the ornament can look traditional, funny or stylish... Use the DSPBR properties as you like: with or without textures, reflective, matte, with flakes or sheen or any other look-n-feel you like. Use the Dassault Web Apps, Rich Client Apps, or other tools that can render the DSPBR material with rasterizer or raytracer.
DSPBR stands for Dassault Systèmes Physically Based Renderer. It is an easy-to-use, renderer-independent, PBR material model for a large variety of industry use-cases, ranging from high-performance VR applications to high-quality GI renderings. The DSPBR material technology is backed by the STELLAR render engine. For the edition of Material Appearance with DSPBR on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, you need one of the applications: CATIA Rendering Scene Design, CATIA Live Rendering, 3DEXCITE Creative Experience, 3DEXCITE xStudio. DSPBR is also integrated in some stand-alone software by Dassault Systèmes, such as: Deltagen or Solidworks Visualize.
