IS2022 - the 32nd Annual INCOSE International Symposium

Highlights

Around a thousand systems engineering professionals (~600 in-person and ~400 virtual) around the world gathered in the "Motor City" in the last week of June for nearly a weeklong of rich programs of keynote speeches, presentations, meetings, exhibitions, and... fireworks!

Inspiring Keynotes:

  • Dr. Christopher J. Scolese, Director, NRO, "Architecting the Future: The Role of SE and DE at the NRO"
  • Carla BailoCenter for Automotive Research (CAR), "Mobility and System Engineering Integration"
  • Laura Doughty, Director Peakfield Consultancy Ltd and currently Head of Culture and Engagement, Project Delivery Directorate, Sellafield Ltd, " The Power of connection: The power of influencing and how to do it"
  • Christopher DaveyFord Motor Company, "Ford’s Connected-Agile, Model Based Systems Engineering and Simulation Journey"

In his closing keynote, Chris Davey of Ford repeatedly highlighted No Magic and MagicDraw.  While showing SysML models and MagicGrid in Cameo, he remarked, "This is incredibly powerful. If you don’t do it, you’re probably going to have to hire a thousand engineers running data night and day, and just hope you can analyze all the right scenarios...

"Without systems engineering, you just couldn’t do it,” he commented.

INCOSE Institute of Technical Leadership

During the conference, INCOSE Institute of Technical Leadership Institute (TLI) announced the Cohort 8 delegates that included our very own Dr. Aurelijus MORKEVIČIUS and Guillaume TERPANT. The Institute is a "global network and learning laboratory to advance the collective skills and the body of knowledge on technical leadership."  Congratulations Aurelijus and Guillaume!

3DS Participation and Presence

Platinum Sponsorship and Exhibition

Dassault Systèmes was a Platinum Sponsor for the event and, led by @PS, @SK, @JW, and NAM Marketing, we had a major exhibition presence and nonstop customer customer engagements supported by multiple Brands and GEO teams including CATIA, SIMULIA, T&M and A&D Industries.

Many thanks to the financial contributions from these organizations that made this event possible: CATIA, EDI, SIMULIA, and GS.

There were great interactions in and around our exhibition booth.  Many customers and partners came to our booth to find out our latest solutions or to seek out specific individuals from our team.  There were also a number of business meetings alongside the conference, including those with GM and CATIA Magic CAB.
