if you are currently using CATIA V5 for your daily work but also you want to take advantage of the leading edgeDassault Systèmes technology for topology optimization in your design using the 3D EXPERIENCE Functional Generative Design (SGD or GDE) solution, here is what you can do:
Use Case One: You use a V5 version at the same level/release (or newer) than the 3D EXPERIENCE (like CATIA V5-6R2022 and CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE 2022X)
You may define your study in Functional Generative Design (GDE) Environment in 3D EXPERIENCE Platform, compute the Light weight Design, then export the 3DPART to the V5 Format as Spec (see video 1).
The object is now fully modifiable within CATIA V5.
Then resume the continuation work inside your V5 Environment.

Use Case Two: You use a V5 Version to an earlier level release than your 3D EXPERIENCE ( Like CATIA V5-6R2019 and CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE 2022X )
Then, you may prepare the Design Space in your V5 Environment, import it in your 3D EXPERIENCE Functional Generative Design (GDE) Environment, compute the Light weight Design, then export the Automatically created Subdivision Surface (within the “Splitting Surface” geometrical Set) using OBJ export function within Imagine & Shape app, then import this OBJ inside your V5 environment to split the design space by this Subdivision (see video 2). The object is now fully modifiable within CATIA V5.
Then resume the continuation work inside your V5 Environment.
