Creating and modifying patterns using Knowledge Patterns can be a bit challenging, or sometimes even frustrating. Hence the introduction of xGenerative Design with the ambition to simplify and democratize this process is a very welcome addition in 2019x.
The fully web based app combines interactive 3D-modeling and graphical visual scripting and blends them together. As all the interactions between the two environments are multidirectional the experience is very immediate and direct, i.e. you directly see how your modifications affects the pattern.
In the below example the challenge (from traditional CATIA-perspective) was primarily to achieve a progression in the two pattern domains, maintaining a aesthetic curvature across the connection between the two.
The role 3D Generative Innovator is in this example utilized in combination with different native CATIA apps.
