This automotive side-mirror component started with reverse engineering and 3D modeling based on scanned data. We then produced the gray resin prototypes to evaluate the fit, dimensions, and functional details before approving the final design.
The next steps included injection mold design, machining, manufacturing, and assembly ,followed by the initial injection trial. The black component shown here is one of the first molded samples.
It’s always rewarding to see a project move from scan data and a digital model to a physical prototype, a manufactured mold, and finally a real injection-molded part.
