Finn Mast Project Composites Engineering Process Composer Product Structure Design
Dear users,
After the setup of Finn Mast Modelisation/Simulation model (Mod-Sim), we introduce you the way to optimize a Composite Structure driven by design criterias using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
The optimization requires to control parameters (design parameters which define the plies positions and & lengths) and measures the consequences on both stiffness and dynamic response of the mast.
We define the input, output, constraints and cost function of the optimization to increase the speed of simulation.
The Process Composer Apps allow to control height of the plies from a design point of view (inputs). Core-Sampling update & structural simulation are performed automatically to measure the new displacements of the mast (outputs). The mass & center of gravity of the mast must be carefully taken into account to ensure the respect of Finn class rules (constraints). The objective of the optimization is to reduce the difference between reference displacements & the ones currently measured (cost function).
Next step, definition of dynamic response for composite layup according to the performance criterion.
I am quite sure this work is related to part you activities in various industries. So please feel free to comment and share your remarks to improve the use & the knowledge of the platform !
