eFMI standard – from physical models to embedded software

Once the EMPHYSIS collaborative project is successfully achieved (see previous episodes), the point is now to organize in order to secure the future of eFMI standard.

Perspectives

1. eFMI Modelica Association Project (MAP) to handle the emerging standard

eFMI have been created in an Automotive context but can be used in other industry domains (eg. Aerospace embedded systems) .

eFMI specification are available for all and are IP open.

Transfer of IP to Modelica Association has been jointly decided by consortium, to make a permanent standardization project. DS will lead the steering group of this future eFMI project.

2. eFMI support in DS Portfolio

Several CATIA apps should support eFMI to go from the EMPHYSIS prototypes to CATIA portfolio, including Dymola & DBM, and AUTOSAR Builder.

The next release of DS portfolio should support eFMI V1 around mid 2021; and eFMI should be further supported in context of 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Also, regarding the industrial use, DS will be able to address the automotive market as well as other industry sectors who have the same needs, with an extended offer (both standalone & 3DEXPERIENCE).
