The first one was built in 1948 in a hangar on the site of a former sawmill in Gmünd, Austria. 

The brand's first car bore a great resemblance to the Volkswagen Beetle. All of its engine, brakes, suspension and steering parts were either directly raised or derived from the legendary Beetle, and although the engine benefited from a rather monumental tune-up, the flat-four produced only 40 horsepower.
