A Power Copy or a User Feature is a collection of CATIA features that can be reused in a part’s design. The creation is very similar but the result is quite different:

• The interest of User Features over Power Copies resides in the encapsulation concept. Encapsulation allows all internal geometry, parameters and formulas of user features to be regrouped and hidden in a single node in the tree.
• User Features allow customers to manipulate their own semantic objects in place of CATIA standard objects.
• A link can be kept between the User Feature reference and its instances for synchronization (for wireframe & surface User Features only).
